Have No Fear If You Only Have These

Many people who notice lumps in their breasts tend to become instantly concerned about their health, fearing they have cancer. Although a lump in the breast is one of the first signs of breast cancer, this isn’t always the case. Sometimes the lump goes away naturally. Other times, it can easily be removed surgically.

Benign or non-cancerous breast conditions are common among women. In some cases, these women develop symptoms similar to those who have breast cancer. For this reason, it can be difficult to distinguish breast conditions that are non-life-threatening from conditions that are life-threatening unless the affected individual undergoes a mammography exam.

What Are the Different Types of Non-Cancerous Breast Conditions?

Benign breast diseases can affect both men and women. To distinguish the different types of non-cancerous breast conditions, here are the facts you need to know.

1. Breast Cysts

Breast cysts make up most of the cases of lumps found in the breast. Hormonal changes during a woman’s menstrual cycle can trigger the development of these cysts. There’s no need to worry about breast cysts because they’re benign and they go away without treatment.

2. Ductal or Lobular Hyperplasia

Hyperplasia refers to the abnormal growth of cells in the breasts. It can take place in the ducts of the breasts or the lobules or milk glands. In most cases, it doesn’t cause symptoms and doesn’t require any treatment.

3. Fibroadenomas

Fibroadenomas are tumors of the breasts that develop because of hormonal changes in the body. They’re not cancerous and they don’t increase an individual’s chances of developing breast cancer. Tumors of this kind don’t usually cause discomfort. If they do, they can be removed surgically.

4. Fat Necrosis

Fat necrosis is another non-cancerous breast condition where the tissues in the breast become damaged as a result of injury, breast surgery, or radiation. The lump can start as dead fatty tissue and remain as a scar tissue over time. Fat necrosis is usually common among women with large breasts.

5. Intraductal Papilloma

These small, wart-like growths inside the mammary glands or milk duct can cause nipple discharge. This condition affects women between the age of 30 and 50 years old. Although the risk of breast cancer development increases when more than five papillomas are found in the breasts at one time, the risk can easily be reduced if these growths are removed.

6. Fibrocystic Breast Changes

Fibrocystic breast changes can occur as a result of hormonal changes during a woman’s menstrual cycle. This can cause the breasts to become lumpy, dense, and sometimes painful. However, fibrocystic breast changes are not serious and they usually go away without treatment.

Be a Giver of Hope to Needy Breast Cancer Patients

Any woman would surely heave a huge sigh of relief once she finds out that the lumps in her breasts are benign and non-cancerous.

Unfortunately, a lot of women develop breast lumps that turn out to be malignant or cancerous. Worse, many of them do not have the financial resources to pay for the high cost of cancer treatment. They can only hope that some kind-hearted individuals would help them cover the cost of their treatment.

You can provide them that hope — and you don’t have to take out your wallet to do so. All you need to do is contact us at Breast Cancer Car Donations and donate to us any vehicle you have that you no longer need.

We’ll sell your donated car and use the proceeds to help fund the programs of our charity partners. The money will help them sustain their delivery of life-saving services to more destitute breast cancer patients.

Our nonprofit partners provide them with financial assistance and easy access to medical facilities for their treatment. Other beneficiaries receive counseling, breast cancer screening, and other breast cancer prevention and education services.

Since our charity partners are IRS-certified 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, your donation will qualify you to receive a top tax deduction.

We’ll also provide you with our free professional towing service wherever you’re located in the United States.
